Are you
·
A young person
Who is asked to decide what subjects to take at
school, like GCSE’s or A’ Levels, and the decision is not an obvious one?
Who is equally good and enjoys many different
activities and subjects?
Who feels that any decision taken now will
narrow future choices down and is not comfortable with that?
Who is trying to decide what University Degree
to pursue?
Who has no idea what they want to do for a
living, before or after the Degree, or even without one?
·
That young person’s parent
You don’t have to
do all the thinking alone.
There are many
factors that will guide you to your decision, like abilities and aptitudes in specific areas or
subjects,
·
considerations and expectations about future
employment
·
advice and guidance from teachers,
·
advice and guidance from parents,
·
advice and guidance from others, who may be
afiliated with specific universities of other institutions and all of the
above will of course be useful.
I personally
believe however that there is an aspect that is not looked at enough, an aspect
that is likely to make a big difference to just how whole, complete,
satisfied, rewarded, integrated, motivated, energised, fulfilled, you feel
down the career path that you have chosen. This aspect is the self, our
character, our preferences and predisposition in the way we feel and react in
specific situations.
The work I propose
we do together is designed to add this important aspect to your list of
considerations before you reach your decision.
